“Unexpecting Call”
He got a called in for a 2nd tour.
I was so mad; I couldn’t say my goodbyes.
He’s gone off to fight the war.
But little did he know. Little did he know.
The danger that Marine’s face.
Oh, he knows it all too well.
He was gone and I was here.
A thousand miles apart.
Some will do the impossible.
To change the course of fate.
Making sure that someone lives.
When it almost seems too late. too late.
Morning came too fast.
I was not prepared,
For the unexpecting call.
No one should ever hear.
My best friend,
Who would run a mile.
Everyday just to come,
See me, one more time.

Who have taken bullets,

Just so I can live for one more day.
“Ma’am I am sorry to inform you, your husband has stepped on
an improvised explosive device, losing both of his legs, from knee above. He is
currently at a medical facility in Germany and soon we will be flying him to
Washington, D.C.”
So, if you see a soldier today,
Tell him your thankful.
You see the price we pay.
